Online Sites for Reading and Studying the Bible

The sites listed below serve as excellent resources for reading and studying the Bible. Both offer many different versions in a variety of languages.

BibleGateway

Search by entering a word or verse in the version you choose. Or, look right below the lefthand search box and click the link, “Bible Book List.” After you select the book, then a listing of the chapter numbers for that book appear below. For example, click on “Matthew” and you’ll see below the links to the 28 chapters.

Be sure to look under the “Bible” tab for“More Resources.” There you’ll find Reading Plans, Audio Bibles, Commentaries, and Dictionaries among other great offerings. My favorite Reading Plan is the "Old/New Testament" where you read scripture from both the Old and New Testaments every day and complete the entire Bible in a year.

BibleHub

This site has almost too many tools and features to explore! Notice along the top row you can select among the many Versions, Commentaries, and Languages that are available.

A really handy feature of this site is being able to compare a scripture in several versions at once. To read one verse in many different versions, click on the word “Parallel.” While you're there, you can also read other related scriptures as well as Matthew Henry’s Commentary on that verse.

To read a whole chapter of the Bible in 5 different versions presented side-by-side, click on the “Parallel Chapters” symbol (first symbol in the blue bar; you can hover over the symbols to see what they are).

The Bible Store at Amazon

With so many Bibles to choose from, you may want to use the tool on the lefthand side -- "Find the Perfect Bible." Also, further down on the lefthand side, you can filter your selections according to what you're looking for.
